This Privacy Policy describes how Contractor Schedule collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website at cschedule.com and our application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you:

• Create an account (name, email address, password, role)
• Complete your profile (phone number, trade or specialty)
• Create projects, tasks, jobs, or other content in the Service
• Send messages to other users through the Service
• Contact us for support

We also collect information automatically when you use the Service, including log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of access) and usage data (features used, actions taken within the Service).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process transactions and send related information including confirmations and invoices
• Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
• Send notifications you have opted into, including task reminders via email or SMS
• Respond to your comments and questions and provide customer support
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve user experience

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users: When you connect with another user (such as a General Contractor connecting with an Independent Contractor), limited profile information (name, trade, contact info you have chosen to share) is visible to that user.
• Service providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), SMS delivery (Twilio), and email delivery (SendGrid). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.
• Business transfers: If Contractor Schedule is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Railway (database) and Vercel (application hosting). We implement industry-standard security measures including password hashing, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and JWT-based authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or business purposes.

SMS Communications

If you provide your phone number and opt into SMS notifications, we will send you task reminders and service updates via text message. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message or by updating your notification preferences in Settings. Message and data rates may apply.

Your Rights and Choices

You may update or correct your account information at any time by logging into your account and visiting Settings. You may also:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of email or SMS communications through your notification settings
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Cookies

We use session tokens stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with our Service.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
